Somalian Opoponax Resin

Description

Opoponax (AKA Sweet Myrrh) is a resin harvested in many regions such as Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia. It’s fairly popular with perfumists. This batch is from Ogaden Somalia. The resin is quite solid and on receipt of the batch there were some pretty large pieces (see pics). We decided to smash them into more amicable sizes for our customers! You will receive a mixture of small to medium sized pieces. Many grades within this batch with colours of milky amber, deep rose to near black all with their own profiles. Different scents ranging from milky creamy fruit to red berry’s, floral notes and deeper notes like toffee. Together the aroma acts as a complex bouquet.
