Yemen Myrrh is widely regarded as the best myrrh on the planet. Socotra Island is part of a small archipelago of islands just off the coast of Yemen. This Myrrh is not the same species ‘Commiphora Kua’ and its slightly different in appearance and aroma compared to mainland Yemen Myrrh ‘Commiphora Myrrha’. Socotra Myrrh is generally lighter in complexion. It’s deep and spicy like mainland myrrh but it’s got a more forward mid / bass aroma that’s unique to this region. Try some for yourself!

This resin is burnt as an incense either on its own or traditionally along side Frankincense. This resin has been burnt as an incense for millenia. The two resins compliment each other very well as the fresh citrus aroma from Frankinsence is coupled with the deep, rich fruity and spicy tones of myrrh. Myrrh has and intriguing velvety smooth textured smoke.
