BEHOLD! Our very first blended ripe!
2024 I was looking to press a single estate Lincang area Ripe cake and received a few samples to test out. On their own they were all lacking in one form or another, I wasn’t happy to press any of them. Samples from 2 areas however stood out for a few reasons. The ‘Gong Nong’ material was exceptionally fragrant and flavourful but lacked structure or sweetness. The ‘Baka’ material was incredibly sweet and quite smooth but laid back with minimal flavour. A simple 50/50 mix recipe has created (what I believe to be) the perfect union of these tea’s greatest attributes! Mrs G was very impressed and I’m sure you will be too!
The broth is clean and fairly smooth throughout. The tea leaves no dryness in the throat after drinking, it’s very moist and lubricating. A balanced, fragrant and creamy flavour that is beautifully sweet!
