2018 Autumn ‘Definition Grade’ Da Hong Pao Oolong Tea
£3.05 – £18.95
‘Definition’ indicates a basic level of what a certain tea should taste like at a good price, without any obvious flaws seen in the tea.
A beautiful roasted oolong from Fujian Province, china. Autumn 2018 harvest. This example is a slight step up from our 2017 DHP. Getting a decent tasting but thrifty version of ‘Da Hong Pao’ can be tricky. The tea could be lacking in general flavour or maybe the roast can be out right bad giving out awkward burnt tastes. the roasting of an Oolong is an art form. ‘Definition Grade’ indicates a solid level of what a certain tea should taste like at a good price, without any obvious flaws seen in the tea. We struck well with this example that brews up an adequate level of roasted DHP goodness with no rough edges! True DHP originates from the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian Province and is an extremely sort after tea inside China. True ‘Rock’ oolongs from WuYi mountain command a very high price (£50 per 100g & up) due to massive demand for teas of this area. This particular DHP Style Oolong is from Fujian province.
