A classic recipe. Deep, bold with a creamy Menghai sweetness and cocoa notes.

Personally, my favorite four numbers in Ripe Puerh tea (Mr G). Guilty pleasures! Resting in Guangdong climate controlled dry storage 2015-2020 these cakes have been given time to mature. The result is a very smooth texture. A deep perfume, milky cocoa aroma very noticeable on the rinse. The taste is signature Menghai creaminess with deep base notes of cocoa. An excellent choice for a daily drinking ripe. 1st Batch 1501.

8592 unlocking the code:
In the Pre privatisation days the Menghai Tea Factory AKA (Dayi/TaeTea) was part of the CNNP group of national tea factories. All tea recipes under this group were not given names, just a code. The code may seem boring and uninteresting but it will actually give you an in depth idea about the tea cake!
85 signifies the year this recipe was first released
9 signifies the average grade of leaves (Puerh grades from 1-9, 1 being tippy buds through to 9 big course leaves)
2 signifies the factory / The government owned Menghai factory was number 2.

Yummy yummy in my tummy 😋
I am a big fan of Dayi ripe puer, and this is second only to their 7562 brick.
Super smooth mouth feel, incredibly creamy thick broth and wonderful cocoa/dried fruits taste that lasts longer than you could believe! Very mellow qi leaves me feeling very relaxed and happy. Oh, and it’s super infusible, going at least 10 very good brews.
This is ripe Puerh at its best. 👍👍
