Description

Philip Lee of ‘Yiwu Mountain Tea’ is an Scottish expat living in Guangzhou with family ties to a tea farm in Gao Shan ‘Yiwu’. We took a visit to see him and his wife at their shop in Guangzhou on our recent 2017 tea trip. Philip is extremely knowledgeable in Yiwu area tea and has endless passion for Gu Shu. We were blown away by his offerings as i’m sure you will be too! Expect to see a lot more from Yiwu M T in the near future!

These 380g cakes have been resting in Guangzhou since 2012. Comprised of a blend taken from several regions. All Da Shu material 70-100 year old tree’s.

An aroma of sweet honey, old books and leather. The syrupy brew presents a deep orange. A fair smooth texture. Still some small bite left in this tea, the light astringency hangs to your tongue that turns into a nice hui gan (aftertaste). Flavour wise it’s a sweet, forward aged sweetness taste that dominates.  The highlight of this cake for me is the character left by the Guangdong storage. Not in anyway overwhelming or enveloping the tea, more complimenting the high grade Yiwu material turning this cake into something unique and interesting.
