1999 ‘Jing’ Semi fermented Raw Pu erh tea cake
£4.80 – £33.95
A very rare and interesting cake, sweet with stone fruits
Originally produced by ‘Hua Yuan’ tea factory. This factory was absorbed by CNNP in 2000.
This cake is special for a number of reasons. The process used to make this tea (semi fermented) is quite rare. Cakes that adopt this process are normally fermented for 14 days, this cake however was fermented for only 7 days which helps keep more of the cakes Raw character making it even more rare!
The cake has aged very well, resting in Shanghai for around ten years, Kunming 4 years before coming to U.K. Most signes of bitterness have vanished leaving a very clean flavoured aged raw tea. Front flavours are complex and sweet, hard to put down in writing. A great tea that should be explored. After taste is slightly sweet with stone fruits.
